Exhibition “Italia - Germania: un grande classico”. The Panini stickers tells the history of the European Championship
From May 8 to 31, the Town Hall of Stuttgart hosts the exhibition "Italia-Germania: un grande classico". The history of the European Championship told by the Panini stickers.
The exhibition is a homage to two Countries which have often been protagonists of historical football matches.
The iconic Panini football stickers will disclose the entire history of the main football events. About 80 albums are on display, along with hundreds of stickers, footballs shirts and much more, with some rarities and exclusive gadgets. All exhibits are provided by Gianni Bellini, who is considered the most important stickers collector in the world.
The exhibition is organized by the AERS - Association Emilia-Romagna in Stuttgart in co-operation with the Italian Cultural Institute in Stuttgart, Mo‘ Better Football (Modena), Panini Deutschland AG, the City of Stuttgart. It has received the contribution of the Consulta degli Emiliano-Romagnoli nel Mondo and the patronage of the Municipality of Modena and the Consulate General of Italy in Stuttgart.
The curators and the collector Gianni Bellini, from Modena, will attend the opening on May 8, 7 pm, at the Town Hall.
Gianni Bellini, with Marco Ferrero (Mo’ Better Football, Modena) and Herrmann Paul (Panini Deutschland), will also be guest of the meeting “Zwischen Spielfeld und Album: Panini und die Faszination der Sammelbilder” (Between stadium and album. Panini and the fascination of collecting images) moderated Florian von Stackelberg (May 6, 7 pm, StadtPalais – Museum für Stuttgart).
Together with Philipp Meisel, journalist of the “Stuttgarter Zeitung", they will present some of the most interesting stories and a selection of the most precious pieces.
Bellini and Ferrero will take part in another meeting of the same title in Karlsruhe on May 7 (4.30 pm, Europäische Schule Karlsruhe).
The meeting in Stuttgart launches a series of events linked to this and another exhibition promoted by the Stadtpalais in Stuttgart, entitled “Kicken im Kessel”. Both exhibitions are inspired by the European football championships taking place in Germany from June 14 to July 14, 2024, and are an example of ‘Sport Diplomacy’.
