The Netherlands – Romeo Castellucci at the Holland Festival
The 76th edition of the Holland Festival – the oldest and largest performing arts festival in the Netherlands, is taking place in Amsterdam from June 1st to July 1st.
The varied programme presents theatre, music, dance, opera, musical theatre and multidisciplinary performances by artists from all over the world, called to express and develop themes that accompany and concern our present.
Several works are about systemic violence, and among these, Bros by Romeo Castellucci, a disturbing show that has already "shaken the conscience" of many spectators, and that the Festival introduces with this very effective synthesis: “Where and why does violence arise? With its stunning images and sound, Romeo Castellucci’s Bros shows how the most brutal violence may arise without any identifiable evil”.
Bros is scheduled on June 24 (8:30 pm) and June 25 (2:30 pm) at the Internationaal Theater.
For those spectators who “have a burning question to ask Romeo Castellucci”, the Festival has organized a meeting on June 25 (4:30 pm at De Balie) moderated by Francesca Lazzeri, and there will also be room to share their experience after seeing the performance.
The show is presented in collaboration and with the support of the Italian Cultural Institute in Amsterdam.
