Teatro delle Ariette on tour in France
Since January 6, the Teatro delle Ariette theatre company has been in residence in Le Havre, invited by Le Volcan-Scène Nationale du Havre.
Until January 9, the traditional Ariette’s culinary ateliers were held – autobiographical cooking workshops in which, around a large table, Paola Berselli and Stefano Pasquini, together with the participants, "knead" stories, words and images evoked by the preparation of food – pizza, in this case.
From January 10, Paola and Stefano will be on stage with the French version of their new show Et les animaux réapparurent (And the animals reappeared), based on a text written by Catherine Zambon during the first lockdown.
In a dystopian future, after going through the Age of the Great Contagions and the long period of Faunal-Health Reorganization – during which all the animals deemed guilty of being carriers of diseases were eliminated –, a 70 years-old woman has to confront the reality of a new world, modern, cruel, hardened, and merciless.
It is a moving text, that struck the artists both for the science fiction scenario dramatically similar to our present and above all for the humanity of the protagonist, for her compassion towards all forms of life.
The result is a simple and fraternal show that reminds us how important it is, in these dark and tormented times, to sit down and look at each other, to offer smiles and words, to be together.
Et les animaux réapparurent is staged at the Lycée Porte Océane from January 10 to 14, with two performances a day: the evening one is open to all, while the matinee is reserved for students.
