Switzerland – "È così che tutto comincia" by Teatro Gioco Vita

The project by Mariangela Granelli and Fabrizio Montecchi co-produced with LAC Lugano on stage on November 11

È così che tutto comincia (This Is How It All Begins) is a new production project by Teatro Gioco Vita and LAC Lugano Arte e Cultura, a show by Mariangela Granelli and Fabrizio Montecchi based on Jean-Luc Lagarce's The Rules of Knowing how to Live in Modern Society – a cynical and hilarious self-help manual on how to behave written by the French author in 1993.

«Being born is not complicated, and dying is also very easy. Living, therefore, is not necessarily impossible. All one must do is follow the rules and apply the principles, with the knowledge that in all circumstances there is a solution, a way of reacting and behaving. Life is but a long sequence of problems to which everyone must have an answer».
This is how Jean-Luc Lagarce himself presents his writing and these are the reflections of the protagonist, Madame, performed by the intense Mariangela Granelli, winner of the ANCT 2020 Critics Award for Best Actress, directed and assisted on stage by Fabrizio Montecchi.

Madame brilliantly runs through a list of social etiquette, tearing the hypocrisies of domestic partnership to shreds and revealing the senselessness of ceremonials that draw us into their repetitive cycle.

After the Italian premiere in Piacenza on last September 30 – opening show of “L’altra scena” - Festival of contemporary theatre organized by Teatro Gioco Vita –, the international debut of This Is How It All Begins cannot but be in Lugano, where the show is on stage on November 11 (Teatro Foce, 8:30 pm).
