Norwegian premiere of "Le Sacre du Pritemps" by Dewey Dell
Dewey Dell returns in Norway with the latest creation Le Sacre du Printemps, a unique, personal, and successful interpretation of Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring.
Teodora, Agata and Demetrio Castellucci and Vito Matera often use images from art history and movements from the animal kingdom as a starting point in their choreography, and always mix dance with performance art. In this performance – which like others works by the company expresses attention to anthropological themes, to the search for the origins of the human being –, Dewy Dell merges the theme of the sacrifice of a life with the idea of a necessary regeneration for the earth, staging the thin threshold between origin and death, and the everlasting cycle of life.
The Norwegian premiere of Le Sacre du Printemps is in Bergen, presented by BIT Teatergarasjen within the METEOR International theatre festival.
The performance is on stage on October 27 at 9 pm and on October 28 at 6 pm.
The company will meet the audience after the performance on the 27th.
Moreover, on October 28 (4:45 pm) they will lead a tactile visit/guided tour dedicated to the stage elements of Le Sacre du Printemps, designed for people with visual impairments but open to all. After a short introduction-talk about the work, there will be a proper backstage tour where people can touch the setup, costumes, masks, props, and so on, and the dancers also introduce themselves and their characters.
The tour has the support of Emilia-Romagna Region and ATER Fondazione.
