Mongolia – “MADE IN ILVA” by Instabili Vaganti nominated for three Saint Muse Academy Awards
Three new nominations enrich the palmarès of the multi-award-winning show MADE IN ILVA by Bologna based theatre company Instabili Vaganti: “Best direction” and “Best stage designer” for director Anna Dora Dorno and “Best actor” for performer Nicola Pianzola.
The nominations are from the Saint Muse Academy of Ulaanbaatar, where MADE IN ILVA will be on stage within the 17th edition of the Saint Muse International Theater Festival, organized by the Saint Muse Academy with the support of the International Theatre Institute ITI in Mongolia.
The Saint Muse Academy committee had had the opportunity to appreciate MADE IN ILVA at the IAPAR Festival in Pune, India – a stage of a long tour done in autumn 2022 –, and immediately invited Instabili Vaganti as a special guest of the most important theatre festival in Mongolia.
Defined by international critics as "a masterpiece of physical theatre", the performance is about the tragedy of the biggest steelworks in Europe, the ILVA, and wants to make us reflect on the alienating condition of a factory worker, trapped in a production system that transforms human beings into artificial machines.
MADE IN ILVA will be on stage on September 11 (Black Box theatre, 4 pm). We must wait for the closing ceremony of the Festival (September 17) to know if the nominations will turn into new awards for a show that – translated and performed in four languages – this year celebrates its 12 years of world tours.
On September 11, moreover, Anna Dora and Nicola will direct a theatre workshop, entitled The Organic Body, aimed at actors and dancers of the Mongolian contemporary theatre scene (at the University of Ulaanbaatar, 9 am).
Instabili Vaganti's tour in Mongolia is supported by the Embassy of Italy in Ulaanbaatar and the Italian Ministry of culture.
