Marco D’Agostin on tour in Chile

South American premiere of "Best Regards" in Concepciòn and Santiago. November 14-23

After the South American premiere of Best Regards on November 14 in Concepcion, at the FTB - Festival internacional de Teatro del Biobío, the performance by Marco D’Agostin debuts in Santiago as part of an international dance review presented by the GAM - Centro cultural Gabriela Mistral, one of the main cultural centres in Chile and important referent for international exchanges in the performing arts.

Best Regards is Marco D’Agostin’s very personal homage to performer and co-founder of the DV8 Physical Theater Nigel Charnock, with whom he worked in the past and who definitely marked his way of conceiving dance. The performance was created in 2020 and has already been applauded in many international events, and defined by critics as a “passionate show, able to combine dance and narration in an atmosphere that makes it seems like a desperate and sincere party”.
And just because of this ability in “rigorously thinking on the dialectic between dramaturgy and gesture, showing a notable sensitivity to the textual dimension”, the artist has recently received the 'Special Award for Dramaturgical Innovation' at the 2023 edition of the Riccione per il Teatro Prize.

Best Regards is the letter Marco writes to Charnock eight years late, a sort of impossible letter, written to someone who will never reply. «I extend the same invitation to all the spectators. – says D'Agostin – Let’s sing together of a longing that concerns us, we who did not arrive on time to say what we wanted to».

The performance is on stage at the Centro GAM in Santiago on November 22 and 23 (7 pm).

Marco D’Agostin's tour in Chile is made with the support of the Italian Ministry of culture (MiC), the Italian Cultural Institute in Santiago, Emilia-Romagna Region and ATER Fondazione.
