Lebanon – The Young Musicians European Orchestra at the Al Bustan International Festival
The Young Musicians European Orchestra is guest of the Al Bustan International Festival of Music and the Performing Arts in Beirut.
The event opened on February 23 and will run in Beirut and other cities until March 19.
The Festival, founded in 1994, takes special care in presenting each year a rich and homogeneous programme focused on a special theme, and the title chosen for this edition is "Harmonies of Peace".
The YMEO conducted by Maestro Paolo Olmi will perform two concerts.
On March 17 in Tyre, In the Name of our Peacekeepers. The programme is dedicated to Vivaldi and closes with Paganini's ‘Variations’ on Rossini's Moses (6pm, Tyre Cultural Center).
On March 19, in Beirut, the closing concert of the event, Music for Peace. The programme includes pieces by Vivaldi, Paganini's famous Variations, and ends with the Jupiter, the last symphony by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (8pm, Emile Bustani Auditorium).
Moreover, on March 21, still in Beirut, the Orchestra is invited by the Beirut Chants Festival for a concert organized as a tribute to the victims of both the earthquake in Turkey and Syria, and the explosion in the port of Beirut, a never healing wound. They will symbolically perform Mozart's Requiem – unfinished at the composer's death, just like the lives of each of these victims remained unfinished (St. Joseph Chrch, 8:30pm).
The concerts have the support of the Italian Cultural Institute in Beirut and the Italian Embassy in Lebanon.
