In Sweden and France the new work by Silvia Gribaudi with MM Contemporary Dance Company

"GRAND JETÉ" presented in Kungsbacka on September 23 and at the Biennale de la dance in Lyon on September 26, 27, and 29

GRAND JETÉ is a new choreographic project by Silvia Gribaudi created with MM Contemporary Dance Company.

Grand Jeté, a bit split in the air, is one of the most impressive and virtuoso jumps in ballet. In this brief escape from gravity, everything seems possible. In her new work, choreographer Silvia Gribaudi takes the Grand Jeté to explore endings as a source of new beginnings. The metaphorical meaning of this movement is transposed to everyday life and the show becomes an occasion to rebel and challenge the irreversibility of any foretold ending.

Ten young dancers from MM Contemporary Dance Company are on stage with Gribaudi. “Young people are those who can make all humanity take a leap - says Silvia Gribaudi, this is why I chose a company of youngs who have the passion and desire to take us to other worlds starting from a grand plié, but all together to arrive at a GRAND JETÉ!”.

The performance will be presented in Sweden on September 23 in Kungsbacka at the Kungsbacka Teater (6 pm), guest of Rum för Dans, important institution in the Halland region which, networking with other institutions, associations, municipalities, and counties in the area, works to disseminate and promote the art of contemporary dance in Sweden.

Rum för Dans is among the co-producers of Gribaudi's new creation, as well as the Biennale de la danse in Lyon, which will host the French premiere of GRAND JETÉ, presented with the support of the Italian Cultural Institute in Lyon.

The performance is scheduled in different theatres of the Lyon metro area: on September 26 and 27 (8:30 pm) at Le Radiant-Bellevue, in Caluire-et-Cuire; on September 29 (8 pm) at the Théâtre Théo Argence, in Saint-Priest.
