Festival Verdi streams its "Verdi Gala" on OperaVision to mark the composer’s 210th birthday
On the occasion of Giuseppe Verdi's 210th birthday, Festival Verdi – on going in Parma and Busseto – streams its Verdi Gala live from the Teatro Regio on OperaVision.
Soloists Eleonora Buratto (soprano), Clementine Margaine (mezzo-soprano), Gregory Kunde (tenor), and Michele Pertusi (bass) lead the birthday tributes with music from Aida, Don Carlo, Ernani, I Vespri siciliani, I Lombardi alla prima Crociata, Macbeth, Nabucco, and Otello. Omer Meir Wellber conducts the Filarmonica Arturo Toscanini and the Chorus of Teatro Regio di Parma, directed by Martino Faggiani.
This year the concert, organized in co-operation with the Reggio Parma Festival, supports the project "Viva Verdi" promoted by the Italian Ministry of Culture for the acquirement and enhancement of the composer's house-museum in Sant’Agata di Villanova sull’Arda.
The Verdi Gala is streamed live on October 10 at 20h00 CET, and will be available until April 10, 2024 at 12h00 CET.
