Andrea Adriatico's latest work on stage in New York on December 13 and 14

On the 30th anniversary of its foundation, Teatri di Vita theatre company arrives in New York and presents its latest work: evǝ, a retelling of The gospel according to Jesus, queen of Heaven. God’s New Frock by English playwright and performer Jo Clifford, translated for the occasion by Stefano Casi.

Genderfluid, sex workers, homophobia, sexism, feminism, exploitation of religion, oppression, discrimination: these are some of the many themes touched upon in this show through the ancient parable of the creation of man.

The version by director Andrea Adriatico – who returns to deal with LGBTQ+ issues – transforms the original monologue into a chorus of many Evǝ.
Adriatico stages the performance with an international non-binary, transgender, and cisgender cast, from Philadelphia performer and director Rose Freeman to Italian most well-known transsexual actress Eva Robin’s.

After having been applauded in Berlin last year, evǝ is on stage at The Tank NYC on December 13 and 14 (07:00 pm).

The tour has the support of the Italian Ministry of Culture and Emilia-Romagna Region.
