The innovative design from Emilia-Romagna on display at EXPO Dubai
Emilia-Romagna Region presents the project Design Is Everyday at EXPO 2020 Dubai, in the Short Stories space of the Italy Pavilion from January 23 to 29.
The project highlights the importance of the role played by design in the various production phases: from the original idea to its development, from communication to distribution. These processes themselves generate new, innovative ways of co-operation among the protagonists of Emilia-Romagna, a region with a high creative and productive value. In fact, the full title of the exhibition reads: Made in Emilia-Romagna: How Culture and Competence Improve Human Life.
On display, a selection of projects from the regional territory. These tell a story that describes the capabilities of many companies from Emilia-Romagna to generate production chains based on the intertwining of knowledge, skills and production processes.
The exhibition focuses on everyday life and its relationship with human health. In particular, by using 3D printing designers are able to develop new shapes and innovative materials for the orthopaedic and bioengineering sectors; above all, design is a tool that unites robotics, the Internet of Things, mechatronics and competences related to surgery and physiotherapy. Furthermore, it shows how today design is increasingly at the service of sectors related to human life and health, as in the creation of innovative products with ceramic materials for regenerative medicine.
The aim of the exhibition is to highlight the interconnection among subjects that share resources, tools and expertise through innovative processes to bring about a type of innovation which is greater than the sum of its parts. The result of these 'clever' synergies is the creation of objects that improve –and often protect– everyday life.
The event is organized in co-operation with ATER Fondazione e PABLO srl.
