The "Beyond Borders" project by Instabili Vaganti makes a stop in Senegal

From February 14 to 19 in Dakar, sharing of performance practices with KËR Théâtre

A Gateway to the future - Nouvelles routes migratoires à l'ère post-pandémique  is a stage in the work of 'Beyond Borders' – an international project conceived and directed by Instabili Vaganti theatre company in collaboration with L'Arboreto - Teatro Dimora di Mondaino, ATER Fondazione, and La MaMa Umbria International, and winner of the 'Boarding Pass Plus 2021-22' call from the Italian Ministry of Culture.

Beyond Borders is an artistic sharing project that includes moments of residency and creation, exchange of practices and training, designed to maintain an active intercultural dialogue between artists from different parts of the world, in order to undertake paths of shared creation and co-productions.

In the Senegalese stage, taking place in Dakar with the support by the Italian Cultural Institute from February 14 to 19, there will be moments of comparison and exchange of performance practices between Instabili Vaganti and KËR Théâtre and a workshop open to Italians and Senegalese actors, dancers, musicians.

The two companies will work together to share an artistic reflection on the theme of the "border", which will be explored from the point of view of the geographical barriers and economic assets that condition cultural relations between the different countries and that lead to the creation of new migration routes and flows. This stage represents an essential moment of creation and intercultural exchange between Italy and Senegal, but also and above all an important opportunity for discussion and openness with the local artistic community and public.

The practical workshop, directed by founders of Instabili Vaganti Anna Dora Dorno and Nicola Pianzola assisted by the KËR Théâtre’s artists, will bring the local community and those interested in closer to the Beyond Borders project –the method and process of work, creation and intercultural comparison undertaken.
The work will include physical and vocal training, the study of traditional and contemporary performative elements of the cultures of the related countries, the sharing of global themes and problems, physical and video performative actions created in the different stages of the project.

At the end of the activities, a final demonstration of the work done with the participants in a performance open to the public and the project partners.
