Teatro Due Mondi in Norway for the "Integrated - disintegrated" project
Since November 28, Teatro Due Mondi has been working in Fredrikstad with Studium Actoris international theatre ensemble in the frame of the "Integrated - disintegrated" project – a programme of workshops and performances aimed at countering the growing radicalization of young people.
This is the third part of a collaboration that began this summer when Teatro Due Mondi produced its play Wall Cracks in Norway together with a group of young Norwegians. The same group came to Faenza in September to present the show together with the Italian actors. Now the company is back to Norway to prepare a participatory version of the show Carosello together with primary school children, that will be staged on December 9.
Carosello (Carousel) features the characters of The Bremen Town Musicians and transforms the traditional fairy tale into a new and contemporary story taking place in the streets of European cities. The message of the story is told in a poetic, ironic, and subtle way, allowing the spectators to think for themselves about our contemporary world and wishing for a world where one can still dream and where all people may come together in a big carousel of colours.
The themes related to European citizenship are also at the centre of the workshop Borderless, developed by Teatro Due Mondi in its long experience of pedagogical activity, in which theatrical and artistic work becomes an instrument for social inclusion. Together with the participants, Teatro Due Mondi will prepare a Street Action, that will be performed on December 10.
The "Integrated - disintegrated" project is part of Studium Actoris’ “Highway of Culture” – an international network to create exchange projects with artists from other countries and cultures.
The partners of the project and the correlated events are: Italian Cultural Institute in Oslo, Norsk Folkehjelp, Akroparken Fredrikstad, Gamlebyen Handelsforening, Tourist office "Visit Fredrikstad og Hvaler", Norwegian Ministry for Culture, Region Viken, Town of Fredrikstad.

Borderless
