Teatro dei Venti takes "Moby Dick" and Captain Ahab's ship to Denmark

Special set-up at the port of Hvide Sande within the UR-NAT International Performance Art Festival. August 27 and 28

There is a whale coming to Denmark, and it is the spectacular theatrical machine of Teatro dei Venti’s Moby Dick, which stages the story of Captain Ahab and his obsession with the White Whale.

The theatre company performs in Denmark for the first time, guest of the UR-NAT International Performance Art Festival – event organized every three years by Teatret OM all around the municipality of Ringkøbing-Skjern, which aims to present performances of high artistic quality and to strengthen cultural exchange between the local community and the international world.

UR-NAT 2022 takes place from August 24 to 28, and Moby Dick will be the 'grand finale' of the Festival, which introduces it as follows: “Critics from all over Europe write about magic, poetry, intoxication and rhythm in a strong scenic language with a convincing and dynamic ensemble.”
Two performances are scheduled in Hvide Sande on August 27 and 28 (at 04:30 pm).

The staging of Moby Dick at UR-NAT 2022 will be a very special performance set up especially for Hvide Sande. Other artists from the festival will be involved in the prelude and epilogue of the show, but the biggest « actor » is the Industrial Harbor in Hvide Sande. So, the large moving scene of Moby Dick, where the colossal sailing ship manned by twenty actors and musicians becomes a whale, will have the North Sea as a backdrop.

The tour is made with the support of the Italian Ministry of Culture (MiC), the Italian Cultural Institute in Copenhagen, and Ater Fondazione.
