Spain – Exhibition “Morandi. Infinite Resonance”

The Morandi Museum among the main lenders of the works on display in Barcelona until May 22

The exhibition spaces of La Pedrera in Barcelona are hosting Morandi. Infinite Resonance, an extensive overview of Morandi’s work (Bologna, 1890-1964), one of the most significant and unclassifiable artists of twentieth century art.

The exhibition opened on last February 3 and will run until May 22. On display, 109 works that cover all the themes the artist loved, primarily still life, landscapes, and vases of flowers.
The Morandi Museum in Bologna is among the main lenders, with a loan of 30 works by the Istituzione Bologna Musei: 10 oil paintings, 1 watercolor painting, 6 drawings, and 13 etchings.

Morandi. Infinite Resonance is curated by Daniela Ferrari and Beatrice Avanzi of MART Rovereto and is organized by Fundació Catalunya La Pedrera and Fundación MAPFRE in Madrid, which in turn hosted it from late September 2021 to January 2022, in a setting up that also compared Morandi with contemporary artists who managed to establish a dialogue with the language of the Italian artist in different media –photography, painting, sculpture, and ceramics.

In La Pedrera, various cultural activities related to the exhibition are scheduled, such as drawing and engraving workshops, and a poetic-musical performance inspired by the figure of Giorgio Morandi and his work.
