Icarus vs Muzak on tour in Mexico

From October 14 to 20, concerta at the Festival Cervantino in Guanajuato, in Mexico City, Cuernavaca, at the Festival de Santa Lucía in Monterrey

Icarus vs Muzak, the group of young instrumentalists trained within the Icarus Ensemble, is in Mexico for a five-concert tour in some of the most prestigious venues in Latin America.
The first performance is on October 14 at the International Cervantino Festival in Guanajuato, the largest cultural event on the continent, which this year celebrates its 50th anniversary.
With the participation of international artists, the ensemble will introduce the works by Italian and Mexican composers such as Silvia Colasanti, Víctor Rasgado, and Paolo Perezzani. The latter will perform the premiere of his piece inspired by Beethoven's latest quartets written for the occasion, Es Muss Sein, Omaggio a Beethoven, and winner of the 2018 Global Music Award soprano Daniela D’ingullo will sing Variazioni Concertanti by Mexican composer Juan Trigo, who is also the director of this project.
The second performance is at the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City on October 15, within the 44th Foro Internacional de Música Nueva Manuel Enríquez. This concert will also propose a "mix" of works by Mexican and Italian authors, in a programme rich in sonorities.

The following concerts, entitled Italia antico e contemporaneo, are instead entirely dedicated to Italian music. The programmes will offer pieces by different composers, with a comparison between the ancient production – also in the form of transcription – and the contemporary one.

The first appointment with Ancient and Contemporary Italy is on October 16, still in Mexico City, at the futuristic Centro Nacional de las Artes, to continue on October 17 at the Teatro Ocampo in Cuernavaca, and on October 20 in Monterrey, where the tour ends with a performance at the Festival Internacional de Santa Lucía, the biggest cultural event in the State of Nuevo León.

Icarus vs Muzak’s Mexican tour is supported by the Italian Cultural Institute in Mexico City, Emilia-Romagna Region and ATER Fondazione.
