Hungary – La Baracca-Testoni Ragazzi at the Kabóciádé Családi Festival
The 29th Kabóciádé Családi Festival (Kabóca Family Festival) organized by Kabóca Bábszínház (Kabóca Puppet Theatre) takes place in Veszprém from July 29 to 31.
The Festival is part of the Veszprém-Balaton European Capital of Culture 2023 event programme, a multi-year programme conceived as an opportunity for the city and the region to become a new European cultural hub and to disclose the centuries-old traditions, the cultural diversity, the gastronomy, and the natural resources of the territory.
Lined up with the institutional strategy, the Kabóciádé Családi Festival has developed its programming following the inspiring themes of Earth (in 2021), Water (in 2022), Air (in 2023), and enriching its cultural offer with shows for all ages and with international guests.
La Baracca - Teatro Testoni Ragazzi theatre company is welcome in Veszprém for the first time and will stage a show perfectly related to the theme of this edition: The Colours of the Water.
The performance – intended for an audience 1 to 4 years-old but pleasant for everyone – tells about simple and naturally beautiful elements such as the rainbow and colours, and above all about the emotions they provoke. Few words, fluid movements, soft lights and colours welcome and accompany the very young spectators in this discover, alternating funny moments with moments of emotion and play, which arouse their attention.
The «outstanding warmth of the emotional and physical relation between performers and audience» earned The Colours of the Water the Early Years Award of the FITC - International Theatre Festival for Children ‟100, 1,000, 1,000,000 Stories” in Bucharest.
