France – "Bros" by Romeo Castellucci
The European tour of Bros by Romeo Castellucci is going on in Bobigny, where the performance is on stage from February 11 to 19 at the MC 93 - Maison de la culture de Seine-Saint-Denis Bobigny, which presents the artist as “the grand master of a theatre that makes images speak and provokes imagination”.
The protagonists of the show are a group of anonymous men recruited to go on stage without first having learned the part. They have signed a pact in which they undertake to follow commands, to carry out actions without understanding or preparing themselves. In police uniform, they receive orders via earphones and execute, without having time to think, take a stand or make a choice. The comedy of their frenetic gestures mixes with the violence of the scene, that evokes our violence and the responsibility of looking at that is no longer an innocent act.
Disturbing show, Bros is a profound examination of individual and collective responsibility and of our relationship with the law.
