United States – “Inventing Life” by Teatro Patalò

On March 28, screening of the documentary in California and Italy. On March 29, Zoom meeting with the authors

“Il gioco è l’arte dei bambini, l’arte è il gioco degli adulti. La felicità non nasce dal sogno, ma dalla possibilità di inventare la vita nella dimensione poetica”.
Maria Lai

Inventing Life is a documentary about Tell Tale, a dance-theatre piece by Teatro Patalò company performed by the authors Luca Serrani and Isadora Angelini together with their two sons.

The show was conceived for a tour in California and Oregon the company had been invited to: it would have to premiere in April 2020 but has remained “on the verge of an uncertain future”.

So, the documentary Inventing Life is a work about the unfinished: “a search for elevating the present to a mutual encounter between distant human beings”, –the authors state.

The documentary was shot in theatres, locations in wild nature, and in abandoned spaces, in the absence of live performing and audience. A proof of necessity that has established a dialogue with nature and with a theatre “crowded by absents”.

Inventing Life is presented within the Marche Palcoscenico Aperto_Festival in an event broadcasted on March 28 for the Italian audience and, at the same time, for the American audience: on Teatro Patalò YouTube channel at 09:00 p.m. CET, on Teatro de Las Americas in Oxnard and Main Stage West in Sebastopol channels at 12:00 p.m. Pacific Time.

The audience can book to participate in a Zoom meeting with the company and other guests curated by Enrico Piergiacomi, on March 29 at 06:00 p.m. (09:00 a.m. PT). Write to: info@teatropatalo.it to receive the invitation and all instructions.

The performance Tell Tale, produced by Teatro Patalò with the support by Emilia-Romagna Region, will premiere later this year.
