The ‘Italian Excellence’ of illustration in Amsterdam, Tunis, Guadalajara

Three new international stages for the exhibition by Bologna Children's Book Fair, Emilia-Romagna Region and MAECI

In November 2021, three new stages for 'Italian Excellence’, the exhibition which takes the creative genius of young Italian children’s book illustrators around the world.

After Bucharest, Saltillo, Frankfurt, and China, on last November 10 the exhibition opened in Amsterdam, set at the Italian Cultural Institute, where it will run until November 19.

On the occasion of the exhibition, the Institute has also proposed creative workshops held by illustrators whose works are amongst the ones on display.

Italian illustration continues its travel to Tunisia: from November 19 to December 4, the Italian Cultural Institute in Tunis will welcome the exhibition and the young Italian illustrators, so closing the year under the banner of imagination and creative lightness. The Arabian translation of the texts, curated by the Institute, will allow the Tunisian public to better appreciate the initiative.

Finally, from November 27 to December 5, the exhibition is back to Mexico: Bologna Children's Book Fair will present it at the 35th Guadalajara International Book Fair.

The New Generation of Italian Children’s Illustrators is a project by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), Bologna Children’s Book Fair/Bologna Fiere, and Emilia-Romagna Region curated by Accademia Drosselmeier/Cooperativa Giannino Stoppani.
