Greece – “Fellini Retrospective” on the centenary of his birth

17 films and Paul Ronald’s photos in the tribute curated by the Greek Film Archive. In Athens, October 11-19

The Greek Film Archive, the Embassy of Italy and the Italian Cultural Institute in Athens, within the Tempo Forte cultural program and in collaboration with Istituto Luce Cinecittà, present a retrospective celebrating the great Italian ‘Maestro’ on the 100th anniversary of his birth.

From October 11 to 19, in Athens at the Greek Film Archive, 17 films by Fellini are scheduled, including 8 ½, La Dolce Vita, La Strada, Le notti di Cabiria (Nights of Cabiria), Roma, Amarcord, Prova d'orchestra (Orchestra Rehearsal), I vitelloni. The programme ends with the documentary Fellinopolis, that will be screened on the Greek Film Archive platform: online.tainiothiki.gr.

Moreover, a selection of images from the exhibition Federico Fellini’s 8 ½ in the unpublished photographs by Paul Ronald – curated by the Centro Cinema Città di Cesena and promoted by Emilia-Romagna Region on the occasion of Fellini celebrations - is on display.

As President of the Film Archive Maria Komninou underlines, “we selected 17 iconic films by Fellini, starting from his first movie, Variety Lights (1950), to the last one, The Voice of the Moon (1990), to give all cinema lovers the opportunity to enjoy Fellini’s dreamy and unique world”.

Opening ceremony on October 11 with 8 ½, Fellini’s monumental masterpiece. The Ambassador of Italy in Greece, Mrs Patrizia Falcinelli, the President of the Greek Film Archive, Mrs Maria Komninou, and the Director, Mr Miltos Logiadis, will introduce the event.
