France – “Amour Amor” by Teatro Due Mondi
Amour Amor is the story of a search for happiness. It is a hymn to love and taste, to cooks and fine food.
The performance is an Italo-French co-production: Teatro Due Mondi and Compagnie du Hasard wished to create together a show in which the forces and specificities of the two companies could join.
In fact, they both, besides sharing an artistic and creative line which takes to the streets a theatre able to ‘talk to everybody’ with irony and depth, are based in areas of agricultural and viticultural production – Faenza and the Romagna, as regards Teatro Due Mondi, Feings and the Loir et Cher region, as to Compagnie du Hasard – and this can only lead to love and appreciate good food and wine. So, this ‘vaudeville gastronomique’ was born, which debuted in France in September 2020.
Amour Amor is the story of Paul/Bradipo (sloth; in Italian it stands for ‘lazy’) who, after his grandparents –famous chefs– died, has to inherit the family restaurant. His depression and lack of taste make him doubt but the love by his neighbour Olga will awake all his senses.
The show is set on a double-screw staircase that reserves surprises and phantasmagoria. It will be staged in Selles-sur-Cher and in Fougères-sur-Bièvre on September 18 and 19 respectively.
