EXPO Dubai – Teatro Gioco Vita opens the national project on puppetry arts and theatre animation presented by the MiC
About twenty-five years since its debut and fifteen years since its second production, Emilia-Romagna Region and the Italian Ministry of Culture (MiC) re-propose for EXPO Dubai The Firebird, one of the most important and successful productions by Teatro Gioco Vita – among the first Italian companies to be protagonist of the movement of theatrical animation, a genre in which it has gained a unique experience of its kind that has earned it awards and prestigious collaborations all over the world.
The Firebird is a ‘tale for music, shadows and dance’ entirely based on the “choreographic story” composed by Igor Stravinsky for the Russian Ballet in 1909 and enriched by Enrico Baj’s drawings.
Teatro Gioco Vita proves the great spectacular potential of shadow theatre choosing dance as an interlocutor, a language that gives a body to the incorporeal nature of shadows and, by its nature, is able to act as a scenic medium between shadows and music.
The performance, on stage at the Dubai Exhibition Center on November 6 and 7, opens the national project on puppetry arts and theatre animation presented by the Italian Ministry of Culture (MiC).
Moreover, the workshop “Immaterial Art” curated by Teatro Gioco Vita company will reveal the secrets of contemporary shadow theatre to lovers or professionals, educators, and cultural operators (at the Italy Pavilion on November 6 and 7) .
