Czech Republic – “Harleking” by Panzetti / Ticconi

From June 15 to 18, on stage in Pardubice, Pilsen, Prague within the TANEC PRAHA Festival

Ginevra Panzetti and Enrico Ticconi’s artistic research draws on ancient imaginaries to create hybrid figures or images between history and contemporaneity.

In the performance Harleking, they were inspired by the Harlequin of the Commedia Dell'Arte, here represented as “a demon with multiple identities”.
On Demetrio Castellucci’s soundtrack and an iconography suggested by the “Grotesque” ancient wall decorations – in which monstrous figures emerge and blend in elegant ornamental volutes –, the duo composes a satirical-monstrous duet of perfect times, a hypnotic dance in which the often extreme and contradictory contents merge and create a fluid and metamorphic system which astonishes, amuses, excites our curiosity.

Harleking premiered in 2018 and has been presented in some of the most important European dance platform and theatres. Now the performance is guest in the TANEC PRAHA International Festival of Contemporary Dance and Movement Theatre, one of the biggest cultural events in the Czech Republic, this year taking place in over 20 towns around the country.

Ginevra Panzetti and Enrico Ticconi are on stage in Pardubice on June 15th (08:00 pm, at Theatre 29), in Pilsen on the 17th (07:00 pm, at Moving Station), and in Prague on June 18th (08:00 pm, at Ponec dance venue).

Their tour is supported by ATER Fondazione.
