Taiwan - “Illustration for children. Italian Excellence”
The exhibition Illustration for children: Italian Excellence continues its long journey around the world.
With more than 60 works by 18 Italian illustrators awarded at the Bologna Children's Book Fair different editions, the exhibit is an overall view on the creativity, fantasy and imaginary of illustrators who have created a new tune in illustrated albums for youth, and, thanks to their expressive richness, have drawn to the world’s attention the high quality of Italian illustration.
The exhibition was born thanks to the co-operation by Bologna Children's Book Fair, Italian Cultural Institutes, office for Cultural activities abroad of Emilia-Romagna Region.
Inaugurated with great success in Madrid in 2015, it has been presented in Berlin, Abu Dhabi, Sofia, Beijing, Cairo, Tehran, Canton, Santiago de Chile, Athens, Thessaloniki, Lima, Moscow, São Paulo, continuing to arouse unprecedented interest.
In December 2019, it was back to China, set in Shenzhen until February 2020.
Now it moves to Taiwan, and from July 21st to August 24th it is on dislay at 1916 Cultural & Creative Workshop, great ‘cultural park’ in central Taipei offering artists and professionals all spaces and services for cultural and creative activities – ateliers, rehearsal rooms, offices for young entrepreneurs, photography studios, dance classrooms, specialized stores, marketing course, on so on.
The exhibit presents the works by famous illustrators and young talents, authors with varying styles and forms representing the excellence in Italian illustration for children:
Beatrice Alemagna, Anna and Elena Balbusso, Chiara Carrer, Mara Cerri, Sara Fanelli, Philip Giordano, Roberto Innocenti, Federico Maggioni, Giovanni Manna, Lorenzo Mattotti, Simona Mulazzani, Simone Rea, Sergio Ruzzier, Arianna Vairo, Alessandro Sanna, Guido Scarabottolo, Pia Valentinis, Olimpia Zagnoli.
