Online world premiere of “Where / Dove” by Willie Doherty

From November 12 to 16, Fondazione Modena Arti Visive makes available in streaming as a world preview the new video piece by Willie Doherty, commissioned for the WHERE / DOVE exhibition, co-produced by FMAV and National Museums Northern Ireland and produced with the support of the British Council as part of the UK / Italy Season 2020.

WHERE / DOVE – the first solo exhibition of the Northern Irish artist in an Italian institution, should have opened on November 7 in Modena, at the Palazzina dei Giardini.
While waiting to know when it can be opened, Fondazione Modena Arti Visive has decided to offer the public a free streaming of the new video work Where / Dove, co-produced by FMAV, Kerlin Gallery (Dublin) and Alexander and Bonin (New York).

Two protagonists offer different viewpoints of the same border landscape between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. The border is presented as an ambiguous, melancholy, and perennially unstable space, suspended between the shadow of the past and the dream of the future.
