Live streaming of two concerts by Riccardo Muti and Cherubini Orchestra
“The maestro, his orchestra, and the theatre: that is enough to find again the joy of making music together and share it with everyone, everywhere.”
This is how Ravenna Festival announces the two concerts by Maestro Riccardo Muti conducting the Luigi Cherubini Youth Orchestra at the Alighieri Theatre in Ravenna, which will be streamed for free on November 22 and 29, at 11 am CET, on the website ravennafestival.live, and made available for a further 15 days.
The concert on November 22 is entirely dedicated to Schubert, with his Symphony No. 3 and the Unfinished that was performed for the first concert of the Cherubini Orchestra in 2005.
On November 29, an all-Italian programme includes Martucci’s Notturno, Puccini’s Preludio sinfonico, and Verdi’s overtures from Nabucco, La forza del destino, and I vespri siciliani, together with the Macbeth ballabili.
These are the final events of the Ravenna Festival 31st edition and the Alighieri Theatre virtually opens its doors to audiences worldwide.
On- and in-ear headphones offer an immersive audio experience of the unique acoustic of the Alighieri Theatre, one of the only eight places in the world (and the only theatre in Italy) where the cutting-edge d&b Soundscape En-space system has been applied to.
The concerts will be available also on Ansa.it, thanks to the project “ANSA per la cultura”, through which the Italian press agency host streamed events from the main Italian theatres on its website.
Moreover, they will be streamed also on the Spring Festival in Tokyo website, thanks to a renewed collaboration with Ravenna Festival.
The concerts are made possible by the collaboration among Ravenna Festival, Fondazione Orchestra Giovanile Luigi Cherubini, and RMMUSIC, with the contribution of the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Ravenna.
