The documentary by Enza Negroni was realized in 2009 on the occasion of the centenary of the Nobel Prize for Physics awarded to Guglielmo Marconi. It was produced by POPCult, a production company based in Bologna specialized in creative documentaries, in collaboration with Emilia-Romagna Region, Fondazione Guglielmo Marconi, Fondazione Alma Mater Studiorum - University of Bologna, the National Committee for the Marconi Nobel Prize Centenary.
The wireless pioneer tells the life of Marconi staring from the turn-of-the-century Bologna, blending theatrical drama, film technique and news reporting to narrate Marconi’s life and places, his first discoveries and success, the moments of great suffering, the changing in his behaviour and way of life, the international implications, to the final result.
Actor Giorgio Comaschi, narrator and "eyewitness" of an extraordinary life, accompanies us in this story alternating some funny moments, fictionalized anecdotes and observations on the great Bolognese inventor, chronicles of his life, and disclosing the importance of his discoveries, which today allow us to use mobile phones, remote controls, and satellite technology.
In a video contribute, Enza Negroni explains the process of the making of the film and the reasons that led her to realize this biography depicting a different, unknown and more human Marconi.
