L’arboreto - Teatro Dimora di Mondaino and the Manual on work and happiness

The project co-financed by Creative Europe ends up with the publication of THE MANUAL

A Manual on Work and Happiness is an international collaborative project coordinated by Artemrede (Portugal) with partners Pergine Festival (Italy), L’arboreto Teatro Dimora (Italy) and the Municipal and Regional Theatre of Patras (Greece), under the artistic coordination of mala voadora.

The project, co-financed by Creative Europe, ends up with the publication of THE MANUAL, a kit of instructions to create the participatory show A Manual on Work and Happiness. It includes a video, a step-by-step document, a set design kit and the texts of the play in five languages -English, Portuguese, Italian, Greek and Spanish.

THE MANUAL is one of the outcomes of a two-year activity which included, among other events, five artistic residencies and five participatory stage performances in three countries -Portugal, Italy and Greece.

Those residencies were coordinated by Portuguese company mala voadora and targeted the local communities, thus turning a group of citizens out of arts scene into temporary performers.
Each one of those performances was based on a series of instructions and texts which were tested and adjusted to the necessities of different groups and different venues.

THE MANUAL is a compilation of these instructions and of the texts written by Spanish writer and dramaturg Pablo Gisbert during his artistic residence at L’arboreto Teatro Dimora in Mondaino (including those left out of the performances).

The content of THE MANUAL is royalty-free and it can be download here:

People worldwide - artists, professional companies or amateur groups - are now invited to download it and create their own version of the show.
