SUONO GRASSO #3 is back in London with Emilia-Romagna's experimental music

Music

After last year’s successful event in October at Cafe OTO, SUONO GRASSO is back in London to continue the focus on musicians from the experimental area – a historically rich scene in Emilia-Romagna.

On October 10, cellist and composer Francesco Guerri presents his solo album “Su Mimmi non si spara!” (RareNoise), for solo cello.
To follow, the duo Laura Agnusdei and Daniele Fabris, who met at the Institute of Sonology in The Hague and started a collaborative project based on Laura’s saxophone playing and Daniele’s experience as sound researcher and creative coder.
The final performance is by Bono / Burattini duo, who will present their debut record for Maple Death “Suono In Un Tempo Trasfigurato”.

On October 11, the programme features London-based Italian musician Luciano Maggiore, whose work is characterized by the use of speakers and analogue/digital devices (samplers, CD players, Walkmans, tape recorders).
To follow, the tellKujira ensemble, an “imperfect” chamber quartet with two electric guitars instead of violins, whose music moves between contemporanea, electronics, art rock and free jazz.
The night ends with a completely new duo formed by drummer, composer and percussionist Valentina Magaletti and electroacoustic composer and saxophone player Laura Agnusdei. They will perform together for the first time, experimenting on the stage of Café OTO.

from 10/10/2023 to 11/10/2023 hour 19.30
SUONO GRASSO is a new initiative of Emilia-Romagna Music Commission and ATER Fondazione with the aim of developing and nurturing the region’s international connections in the field of music, across all musical forms and genres. The project aims to visit as many cities, scenes, and types of music as possible, organizing small and large events outside Italy.
SUONO GRASSO (FAT SOUND in English, after the typical sound of the 1980s, but also a reference to the region’s fertile agriculture and rich cuisine) includes an ever-growing network of dozens of musicians, producers, and festivals.
