Third webinar of THE CIRCLE IN EXPANSION - The space of theatre in dialogue between borders, pandemic, revolution and
Eutopia – the online forum of the Beyond Borders project.
The meeting is intended to be a moment of reflection and intercultural confrontation capable of investigating the particular historical period we are experiencing.
If we accept the paradox – analysed in the previous meetings – of the existence of 'walls that open' and the hypothesis that theatre is the channel for a positive contagion, we can now start a further reflection, and that is whether this fertile disease may be considered a real revolution.
Panelists:
Anna Dora Dorno and Nicola Pianzola - artistic directors of Instabili Vaganti theatre company
Sabera Shaik, Masakini Theatre artistic director (Malaysia)
Brahma Prakash Singh, Professor of Theatre and Performing Arts Studies at the Jawaharlal Nehru University of New Delhi (India)
Ali Shams, theatre director (Iran)
Parnab Mukherjee, theatre director (India)
Pankuri Sinha, journalist (India)
Bree Alexander, actress joining the project (Australia).
Moreover, during the meeting some episodes of the web series
8 ½ Theatre Clips will be shown. They were made exactly in a situation of “confinement” and the whole series is a revolutionary work as it could break down several borders, not only those due to the pandemic but also the cultural and political ones that limit the freedom of expression of a country like Iran.
