The Ballade of Theseus and the Minotaur

A show about circus and mythological story of Theseus and the Minotaur. The puppet theater is the technique with which this story is told. On stage the clown-actors who often change their roles; animators, attendants of a surreal circus, a bit protagonists and actors. The characters are those of Greek history: King Minos, who is at the same time also circus presenter; Theseus the warrior and executioner, but also tamer; Ariadne, Theseus’ lover and tightrope-walker; Pasiphaë, the King’s wife and dancer; Icarus the Trapeze artist and the roller coaster; Dedalus, the fabulous architect and puppeteer, and finally the Minotaur, the ferocious beast.
The scenography and the image of the show are freely inspired by sculptor Jean Tinguely's work: a sort of industrial archeology emerges, made up of recycled and recycled materials, exhausted materials that, completely transformed and regenerated, become "something else".
The music used in the show is by composer and musician Pascal Comelade with his group, Bel Canto Orchestra; a very extravagant genre, with extensive use of strange unconventional instruments of various kinds, as well as toy instruments.
.
A show of contemporary puppet theatre for adults and children from 6 years.
