THE RITE OF SPRING
On May 29th 2013 Igor Stravinskij's La Sacre du Printemps celebrated its centenary, and all the dance world reminded and solemnized this event. After the scandal aroused during the debut, with the first choreography's version, which took place in Paris by Vaslav Nijinsky for Ballets Russes of Diaghilev, the partition became really famous and recognizable at first beat. Mighty musical masterpiece, composed for an entire orchestra, Le Sacre is inspired by an old Slavic legend. According to the legendary tale, every spring, a virgin had to be ritually sacrificed, so that the land could flourish. The interpretation of Le Sacre read by the choreographer Enrico Morelli, approaches Stravinsky score respectfully. The result reflects the troubled dynamism of our times. A way to fight new and old fears and to exorcise the sorrow of living that we carry with us in our days. So is the choreography meaning: until the day that human being will sacrifice his own similar to the blind violence of cannibalism, without choosing to respect each others, culture glare and plainness of reason will never take over. If this does not happen, always and forever, each individual can only think and want evil of others, eliminate anyone who stands in the obstacle to meeting of his desires. Each one will have in the next an enemy. From this it will derive the war of all against all, with no more right or wrong. So the human animal will be condemned to remain Homo homini lupus.

BOLERO
Like a precise clockwork, Bolero (1928)  is still today one of the best-known piece in music history. Michele Merola creates a new version of Bolero, after a deep and long study with this obsessive and repetitive music: the choreographer inspiration focus on the inexhaustible range of human relations, especially the ones related to couple relationship, in which we often note the mutual and irreconcilable distance between men and women, "the invisible wall" dividing their existence. Bolero is therefore reported as a non-story, fantastic but possible, however, relevant to the real world: a kind of abstract "bitter fairy tale", an allegory of the pain of living and misunderstanding between humans, a metaphor of our existence, close between conflict and dialogue, seduction and disappointment, surprise and bewilderment. On the Ravel’s music intervened composer Stefano Corrias, which created its own musical score, loosely based on the Bolero, which integrates perfectly with it, fitting in three different moments of choreography: the three fragments emphasize the most intimate moments, and more real, of each of us, when we are far from the gaze of others, and far from the deafening noise of the world.
