Sweden – Instabili Vaganti’s Contemporary Hermit

"Made in Ilva" staged at the Tokalynga Teaterakademi International Festival. In Ätran, on October 19th

Made in Ilva – The Contemporary Hermit refers to the real vicissitudes of the biggest steelworks of Europe that conditions the life of the whole city of Taranto and its inhabitants, entrapped between the desire to escape from the glowing steel cage and the need to keep on working there for daily survival, in spite of that hell of worker fatalities and deaths and environmental damages.

The dramaturgy is inspired by some workers’ testimonies, interlaced with poetic works by Luigi di Ruscio and Peter Shneider.

The performance is the result of an intense physical and vocal experimentation aimed at pointing out the relation between organicity of the body and incoherency of the alienating contemporary production system that transforms the human being into an artificial machine.

The show, produced in 2012, was staged more than 150 times, receiving numerous awards in Italy and abroad and being guest in prestigious international Festivals.

On October 19th, thanks also to the support by the Italian Cultural Institute in Stockholm, Made in Ilva is staged in Sweden at the Tokalynga Teaterakademi of Ätran, within the Internationell endagsfestival.
