Hungary - Exhibition 'Design Is Everyday'

From October 9 to 30, within the Budapest Design Week, the 'Made in Emilia-Romagna' design that helps in improving human life

The project Design is Everyday highlights the important role of design in all the phases that shape a new product: from the original idea to its development, from communication to distribution. These processes themselves generate new, innovative ways of cooperation among the protagonists of Emilia-Romagna, a region with a high creative and productive value.

Through a multimedia narrative itinerary of images and footage, the objects and projects displayed –all of them of outstanding quality– reveal the ability of many realities from Emilia-Romagna to interweave knowledge, know how, and manufacturing.

The exhibition focuses on everyday life and its relationship with human health. In particular, by using 3D printing designers are able to develop new shapes and innovative materials for the orthopedic and bioengineering sectors: above all, design is the linking tool between robotics, mechatronics and specific competences in the fields of surgery and physiotherapy. Moreover, the exhibition includes innovative ceramic products designed to serve regenerative medicine.

The aim of the exhibition is to highlight the interconnection among subjects that share resources, tools and competences through innovative processes -all based on design- to bring about a type of innovation which is greater than the sum of its parts. The result of these unprecendented synergies is the creation of objects that improve –and often protect– everyday life.

The project Design Is Everyday, curated by Open Design Italia, is carried out and supported by Emilia-Romagna Region and the Italian Cultural Institute of Budapest.
Opening on October 9th at the Xenia Gallery of the Institute, within the 2019 Budapest Design Week.
