 A weak-willed Italian man becomes a fascist flunky who goes abroad to arrange the assassination of his old teacher, now a political dissident.
The novel Il conformista by Alberto Moravia was published in 1951 and the homonymous film by Bernardo Bertolucci was released in 1970, becoming one of his major works.

Winner of David di Donatello Awards 1972

The screening is a tribute by the Italian Cultural Institute to the great film director who passed away on 26th November, 2018. Plus screening of an interview at the beginning of his career. Introduction and post screening discussion with Nick Walker.
