Two performances by the renowned flutist on the occasion of the Emilia-Romagna Region's visit to Dubai in view of EXPO 2020. In Abu Dhabi and in Dubai, on October, 24th and 25th

For the first time a delegation of Emilia-Romagna Region is visiting Dubai in view of EXPO 2020.
The visit takes place two years to the opening of EXPO 2020 and is concurrent with the celebration of the 20th World Pasta Day, that since 1998 has been celebrated every year on October 25 with many initiatives and events throughout the world.

Besides the different sectorial institutional meetings, on this particular occasion the introduction of two valuable assets of the regional territory could not miss: great music and great cookery, which will be ideally connected in two events organized on 24th and 25th of October.

On October 24th, at the Italian Embassy in Abu Dhabi, Recital for flute and piano by Andrea Griminelli, a major representative of the remarkable music tradition of Emilia-Romagna, “Friend” of the great Modenese tenor Luciano Pavarotti. The famous flutist will perform pieces from the operatic repertoire accompanied by pianist Amedeo Salvato, master of score at the School of Italian Opera in Bologna and partner of famous voices, as well as of Maestro Griminelli.

On October 25th, in Dubai, concert Opera and Cinema, dedicated to two traditional arts that undoubtedly make Emilia-Romagna a major reference point worldwide. Andrea Griminelli’s flute will be accompanied by Amedeo Salvato’s piano and by the voices of soprano Claudia Sasso and tenor Jenishbek Ysmanov, two young and talented heirs of the Modenese tradition of “Bel canto” conveyed by the schools of Mirella Freni and of Luciano Pavarotti, who have already successfully appeared on the international scene.

After the concerts, Luca Marchini, executive chef of the ‘Pavarotti Restaurant Museum’, will propose his narrative menu The taste of music, that, with courses preferred by Giuseppe Verdi and by his beloved friend ‘Big Luciano‘, is in turn inspired to the strong gastronomic and cultural identity of Emilia-Romagna.
