France – “Little Tom Thumbs” according to Claudio Casadio

The awarded show by Accademia Perduta/Romagna Teatri is on stage at “En Ribambelle!” Festival. In Marseille, from November 6th to 8th

After having been on tour for many years and after many performances all over Europe, Pollicino / Little Tom Thumbs, the awarded show by Accademia Perduta/Romagna Teatri, still attracts the interest of prestigious theatres and festivals in Italy and in Europe.

“How can you sleep? Maybe it’s the fear but… I can’t!” says Little Tom Thumbs to his elder brothers. Pollicino offers to young audience the opportunity to face the feeling of fear.

The protagonist of the story is very small and his fear is very big but does not turn him off. On the contrary, his curiosity and his desire to know reality also in its most cruel aspects enable him to overcome the adversities of his life.

Actor-narrator Claudio Casadio experiences and tells the story in an ironic and comic way, sometimes addressing the public directly, at times using a folky-style with frequent references to the popular culture of the Romagna territory (where the theatre company has its roots).

Thanks to the historic collaboration between Claudio Casadio and artist Marcello Chiarenza, the stage elements and its general design provide an original example of “Narration Theatre with Objects”.

An “exemplary” performance for a festival dedicated to ‘Narration Theatre with Actors, Objects, and Puppetry’ as the “En Ribambelle!” Festival of Marseille, which proposes Pollicino at La Criée - Théâtre National of Marseille from November 6th to 8th.
