United Kingdom – Franz Schubert and Romeo Castellucci

English/Irish premiere of the performance “Schwanengesang D744” at 'Happy Days: Enniskillen International Beckett Festival'. On July 27th and 28th

Franz Schubert was Samuel Beckett’s favourite composer whom he acknowledged in his own work: All That Fall, the first radio play he produced for the BBC, and Nacht Und Träume, his last television play written and directed for the German Süddeutscher Rundfunk.

The 7th edition of the international Irish-English festival dedicated to Beckett - Happy Days: Enniskillen International Beckett Festival, proposes the listening of Shubert with the show SCHWANENGESANG D744, conceived and directed by Romeo Castellucci.

It is a ‘theatrical performance with music’ realized in 2013 for the Festival d’Avignon, which ‘stages’ the homonymous Lied by Schubert and nine other Schubert’s Lieder with lyrics by different authors.

The Enniskillen Beckett Festival presents Schwanengesang as a ‘dark’ creation and invites its audience not to miss the appointment with «one of Europe’s most innovative and critically acclaimed theatre directors».
